Having a nice, glowing skin is something we all wish for. And it is also a thing that requires a lot of time and work – picking the right cleanser, the right moisturizer, the right SPF and so on. It’s pretty much a never ending story, where you always have to pick the right products for your skin, at the right moment in time. For example in summer your skin gets oilier than in winter, therefore, requires other ingredients. BUT, there are moments when we really need those instant results – even if they won’t last longer than a few hours/a day. Good thing that there are some products and some ingredients out there that really do the trick.
Products with instant results (that last a few hours)
Those are usually the products that help plump up the skin, making it look younger and healthier
Lips: Please forget about using glasses or other “instruments” that can actually hurt your skin. Instead, try using some natural ingredients:
- 1 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1-2 drops of peppermint oil
- 2-3 drops of jojoba oil
Mix those together and rub your lips with it for a few seconds – 1 minute. This will help get rid of dry skin, while also plumping your lips a bit (the result fades in 2 hours or so though)
Eyes: Plumping the skin under your eyes helps when you want to make the lines or wrinkles less visible.
For this you can either use a good mask (Elemis makes some amazing ones – but it’s quite expensive) or get some ingredients for your kitchen and do it yourself. First, after cleansing, get some rose hip seed oil (other might work as well, but from my point of view, this is the best) and apply it under the eyes. Massage it until almost absorbed, using light pressure point movements and tapping. After that, get an ice cube and put a cloth around it (by itself, it’s way too cold and it won’t actually have any nice effect) and press again onto the skin under your eyes. As a bonus, this also helps with general puffiness. If possible, use green tea instead of normal water for the ice cube.
Pimples: Benzoyl peroxide is one of the only things that can flatten acne overnight. It reduces the pimple’s size about twice.
Products with instant results (that are beneficial to skin long term)
Skin redness: Aloe Vera is the savior here. It calms the skin in a few minutes and the result lasts. Also if you’ve got a serious sunburn, it also helps to heal it faster.
Dull Skin: Vitamin C is a must. I usually use a REN instant treatment wit vitamin C. But you can also make a oil/toner yourself. Mix jojoba oil with a bit of liquid vitamin C from the pharmacy for dry skin, and rose water with vitamin C for oily skin.
I also have some tips for body skin, but these will come in another article. Until then,
