Get rid of blackheads & mistakes you were doing

Who likes blackheads? I mean, they look horrible on our noses, chin or wherever they appear. Now, when it’s hot outside, they get even more visible, since our skin is getting oilier. The worst part is that very few people know how to actually get rid of them. Pore strips have become a very popular solution today, yet not the best one.

If not pore strips, then what and why? I’ll start with the “why”. Pore strips are harsh on your skin and usually pull it quite violently. And even though they can take out some of the sebum clogging the pores, it’s not enough. They are only effective at the surface, but the problem is still there. Also, using them too often will make your pores lose their elasticity – therefore leading to larger pores. This is far from the results we actually want.

Ok, so if pore strips are a no-no, what can we do? I usually prefer to go for chemical exfoliation that helps cleaning the pores from inside out. Also, this helps with controlling the sebum production on the long run. Of course, this doesn’t work in 5 minutes, but if you give it time, you’ll see improvements constantly. As for what to use, you can either for for a finished product (ex. Paula’s choice Clear range) or for masks that you can do at home.

I tried both and in the end I decided masks suit me better, because I simply cannot finish that 100 ml of product in a year. But, of course, you pick what’s best for you. Anyway, now for the mask recipe:

Normal to oily skin (non sensitive)

  • 2 aspirins
  • 1 tsp of mineral water
  • 1 drop of tea tree oil

Crush the aspirins till they turn into a powder. After that, mix them with the rest of the ingredients until you get a paste. Apply this on clear skin for 15 minutes, and rinse well. Before rinsing, you could also massage the paste with gentle, circular movements.

Sensitive skin

  • 2 aspirins
  • 1 tsp of stil water / thermal water
  • 1 drop of rose hip seed oil

Crush the aspirins and mix them with the rest of the ingredients. Apply the paste on clear skin and leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse well (don’t massage if you have red prone skin) and apply a moisturizing toner.

Ta daa! Blackheads should be visibly smaller after the first use, but if you use these masks twice/week for more than 2 weeks you will see hoe much cleaner your skin gets every time.

Hope it helps!
