Cucumbers are a rich source of antioxidants and flavonoids that reduce irritation as well as its cooling effects decreases the swelling. Refrigerate the cucumber slices and place them over your eyes for about 5-10 minutes until they become warm.
Take a raw potatoes, wash, peel and cut it into thin slices. Potatoes have astringents that eliminate excessive water from under eyes. This remedy also helps to fade off dark circles under eyes. You can have clear eyes in about two weeks by placing a slice of potato every day for 10 minutes.
- Tea Bags
Both non-caffeinated and caffeinated teas consist of tannin, a natural astringent that tightens the blood vessels of the skin around the eyes, thereby reducing the swelling. Steep black, green or chamomile tea bags in hot water for couple of minutes. Let them cool down. Close your eyes and place tea bags over each eye for 10-12 minutes. You will see the results in a month. Drinking tea regularly also helps in flushing out the unrequited fluids and retains water reducing the eye swelling.
- Cold Water
Apart from the remedies mentioned above, you still have to follow some other methods to get the desired results instantly. When in hurry, or in the morning before you venture for work, the easiest way of reducing Puffy Eyes is splashing them with cold water. Soak a clean cloth in cold water, squeeze it and place it over your eyes. Cold water works like vasoconstrictor, decreases the blood flow around the eye, skin and reduces skin inflammation.
